Study visit to Szczecin – Urban Lab

Study visit to Szczecin

Podziel się:

As part of the Urban Lab – City for the Young People project, we visited Szczecin, where intensive preparations for the launch of the local Urban Lab are underway. A meeting with the team responsible for implementing the initiative and a visit to the space that will soon become the headquarters of the Urban Lab (in Technopark Pomerania) provided an opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss plans and further develop the concept of action together.

Urban Lab Szczecin is developing based on a participatory approach, with a strong emphasis on working with young people. Young citizens and residents will be actively involved not only in planning the programme of activities, but also in arranging the space itself. The renovation, which will start in the coming weeks, is planned to reflect the needs and ideas of this group in particular, but without forgetting all users of the city. This is part of an approach that aims to increase community involvement and create truly open places – not just in theory!

The Urban Lab Szczecin team is already showing great openness to innovative solutions and creative thinking about the role of young people in urban policies. Planned activities include debates, meetings, workshops and educational and animation activities. Urban Lab Szczecin will be a tool for young people to have a real impact on the development of the city and to support their civic activity.

The project ‘Urban Lab – A City for the Young People’ is co-financed within the framework of the Technical Assistance for European Funds 2021-2027 programme.
