On Thursday, February 13, 2025, Lublin, as one of eight cities participating in the “Urban Lab – City for the Young” project, opened its space dedicated to residents. Urban Lab Lublin is a place created for social dialogue, civic education and urban innovation. It is here that the local community will be able to co-create solutions for the city and develop their competencies.

The inauguration of Urban Lab Lublin was attended by a wide range of city stakeholders, including a large group of young people and representatives of the City Youth Council. The event was also attended by the Mayor of Lublin, Krzysztof Żuk, and the Deputy Mayor for Culture, Sports and Participation, Beata Stepaniuk-Kuśmierzak. The opening was accompanied by an exhibition of ceramic works “Body” by students of the Ceramics and Spatial Forms Scientific Circle of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lublin. In addition, residents had the opportunity to participate in thematic workshops on topics such as accessibility and empathy towards the deaf and hard of hearing, botanical workshops, as well as meetings on urban development. The culmination of a day full of positive energy was a jam session, which will surely be heard at Urban Lab Lublin more than once!

Lublin has created a modern space to support social participation and the development of residents’ competencies – Urban Lab Lublin. Located at 2 Spokojna Street, it is a place open to all who want to act for the benefit of the city, develop their skills and participate in decision-making processes. During the “Urban Lab – City for the Young” project, priority will be given to activities created with young residents of the city in mind, implemented with their active involvement.
Urban Lab Lublin is as much as 185 sq m of space, including:
- two conference and workshop rooms, where the best initiatives will be born,
- an office space, ideal for working, networking and creating projects,
- the best coffee at Urban Café, where countless ideas are generated,
- a podcasting room, which is under preparation, but is where recordings, conversations and creative content will be produced.
The space is open to the public and operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the first floor of the building at 2 Spokojna Street in Lublin.
